Gone are the days of hotel rooms with limited storage and closet space. The Peninsula Beijing is the luxury hotel that proves sizes does matter.
The five-star hotel is the only one in Beijing with only suites. What began as 525 rooms have now been transformed into 230 breath-taking suites, all at least 700 square feet each.
The year-long renovation pulled design inspiration from the interior of private yachts and combined it with the traditional and modern styles found throughout the Chinese culture.
If the standard suite comes with a separate living room, an arrangement of fresh flowers, his-and-hers sinks, and a dressing room complete with nail dryer, you can only imagine what the premium suites hold.
Variety is common among the premium suites. The 769 square-foot offers a loft-apartment style with two floors. The 1,776 square-foot Beijing Suite holds a home theater and dining areas.
Other than the complimentary Wi-Fi and free local and international calling, there are several perks that guests can take advantage of — the most popular being 24-hour check-in and check-out. This luxury allows guests to head in and out without the pain of extra charges.
In the afternoon, guests can grab some tea in the grand lobby. For Sunday brunch the hotel staff pulls out a buffet spread of imported lobster, shrimp, oysters, a station of cold cuts, cured and smoked fish, and an array of premium cheeses.
If that doesn’t get you ready to visit, there’s also a spa and packing/unpacking services.
