Walt Disney World and Lyft are proud to present their collaboration: the Minnie Van! The two companies got together to answer the problem of immediate shuttle service across the 27,000-acre property. These quaint vans perfectly embody the outside-the-box thinking and creativity Disney employs with every endeavor they take on.
Currently there are only 27 of these polka dotted Chevrolet vans in the fleet, so they’re limited in operation to only Disney’s Boardwalk and Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club resorts. With two of them outfitted for handicap access, these vans — driven by costumed cast members — stand by at the ready to take you and your family (up to six people) anywhere on property.
The cost of service is surprisingly low (by Disney standards): $20 per trip, while the vans run promptly from 6:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. Since the program only just started at the beginning of August, it’s unclear yet if this service will extend to other resorts and parks across the property.
With Disney’s previous announcement of the gondola-based transportation project Skyline (click “Skyline” for more info) that will connect Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Epcot to their surrounding resorts, these Minnie Vans are simply a part of that transportation expansion.
